【브레이크뉴스 포항】오주호 기자=포항시와 포항철강산업단지관리공단은 15일 시청에서 이강덕 포항시장, 전익현 포항철강관리공단이사장을 비롯한 관계자 15명이 참석한 가운데, 약 4천만원 상당의 KF94 마스크 4만5천장을 철강공단 기업체 근로자에게 전달했다고 밝혔다.

이번에 전달한 마스크는 포항시에서 2만5천장, 포항철강관리공단에서 2만장 총 4만5천장을 공동으로 구입‧확보해 전달한 것으로, 철강관리공단 입주기업 276개사 1만4천여 명의 근로자들에게 3장씩 지급될 예정이다.

특히, 포항철강관리공단에서는 매년 가을철 개최하는 회원사 체력단련행사를 취소하고 그 예산으로 마스크를 구입해 근로자에게 전달함으로써 지역 사회에서 큰 귀감이 되고 있다.

이강덕 포항시장은 “지난 9월 29일 관내 기업체 근로자의 확진으로 인한 지역 내 전파 사례를 보듯이 젊은층 근로자의 확진은 해당 기업체의 생산피해는 물론 집단감염으로 연결되어 지역사회에 큰 영향을 미칠 수 있다”며 “기업체별로 방역체계 강화는 물론 개인 방역수칙준수를 철저히 해 줄 것을 당부드린다”고 말했다.

아울러 이 시장은 “지난 12일 코로나19 사회적 거리두기가 1단계로 완화됐지만 한순간의 방심으로 언제든지 재확산이 될 수 있는 중대한 시점”이라며 “지역 내 전 분야에서 예방활동에 적극 참여함과 동시에 철강공단 등 기업체에서도 강력한 방역 대응체계에 적극적인 협조를 부탁드린다”고 덧붙었다.
