포스코는 21일 포스코센터에서 KT와 친환경 *가로(街路)시설 제작업체인 마이즈텍과 함께 ‘스마트 그린도시 구축을 위한 사업협력’을 체결했다.

‘스마트 그린도시’는 그린뉴딜 정책의 일환으로 환경부에서 추진중인 사업이며, 이번 협약을 통해 3사는 지방자치단체에‘스마트 가로시설’을 제안키로 하고 태스크포스(TF)를 구성해 공동마케팅을 추진한다.

‘스마트 가로시설’은 포스코의 철강 기술, KT의 사물인터넷(IoT) 기술과 마이즈텍의 제작 기술을 결합한 친환경 가로시설이다. 이 시설은 빗물을 저장해 가로수에 수분을 적기에 공급할 수 있는 급수블록과 뿌리의 융기를 방지하는 보호대로 구성되어 있다. 급수블록에 설치된 IoT 센서는 가로수와 토양의 상태를 실시간으로 모니터링해 물이 필요한 시점을 스스로 파악한다.

이를 통해 지구 온난화에 따른 폭염으로 가로수가 고사하는 것을 방지하고 가로수의 생명주기를 늘려 도심의 이산화탄소를 감축시킨다. 또한‘스마트 가로시설’을 적용하면 지상에 설치된 전력 및 통신선과 복잡한 지하 매설 배관 등을 체계적으로 *지중화(地中化)할 수 있어 도시 미관이 개선된다.

 포스코는 대기업·중소기업·벤처기업 등과 함께 각사의 역량을 결집해 이번 ‘스마트 가로시설’을 개발할 계획이다. 포스코는 부식에 강한 특수 철강재인 포스맥(PosMAC)을 급수블록과 보호대 소재로 공급하고 강재 이용기술을 제공한다. KT는 급수블록에 빗물관 모니터링 센서와 누설전류 감지 센서 등 IoT센서들을 활용한 IT인프라 플랫폼을 구축한다. 마지막으로 마이즈텍은 포스코의 프리미엄 강건재 통합 브랜드‘이노빌트(INNOVILT)’제품인 가로수 급수블록과 보호대를 제작 및 공급한다.

또 가로수 보호대 주변에는 포스코 사내벤처인 이옴텍에서 제철소 부산물을 활용해 제작한 투수(透水)용 보도블럭이 패키지로 설치된다. 투수용 보도블럭은 기존 벽돌 보도블록과는 달리 빗물이 땅으로 투과되고 분해 및 재조립이 가능해 친환경적이다.

이날 협약식에는 포스코 김상균 강건재마케팅실장, KT 이현석 디바이스 사업본부장, 마이즈텍 김진환 대표이사 등이 참석했다. 포스코 김상균 강건재마케팅실장은“대기업, 중소기업과 벤처기업이 힘을 모아 지역사회의 녹색 생태계 회복에 함께 나서기로 한데 의의가 크며, 강건재 시장에서 철강의 친환경 이미지가 제고될 것 ”이라고 말했다.

한편 스마트 그린도시 사업은 정부의 그린뉴딜 8대 추진과제 중 하나로 기후·환경위기에 지속가능한 환경도시의 구현을 목표로 한다. 정부는 스마트 그린도시 25곳을 선정해 2021년부터 2년간 총 2천900억 원을 투입할 예정이다.
