[Break News Pohang] Reporter Joo-ho Oh = The city of Pohang, Gyeongbuk announced that it held a business meeting with about 10 employees of the Pohang Earthquake Investigation and Damage Relief Support Group (hereinafter referred to as the “Damage Relief Support Group”) and service company employees belonging to the State Affairs Coordination Office on the 27th.

This business meeting was held on the 20th, as a contract with a damage investigation and assessment service company was signed, so that damage adjusters could understand the overall damage relief situation and discuss the details related to damage investigation before the start of the work in earnest.

On this day, the damage relief support team and the damage adjustment company's employees toured the site of the reception desk installed in Pohang City Hall, reviewed the flow of the damage relief filing process, and discussed issues related to damage investigations with Pohang City.

In order to help damage adjusters who need to investigate the damage situation caused by the earthquake and calculate the amount of damage, the city of Pohang aims to provide an overview of the damage relief system under the Pohang Earthquake Special Act, and the status of damage relief receipts. Various inquiries and answers that occurred during the reception were shared.

In addition, in this meeting, the role of related agencies and various cooperation matters were discussed in depth in order to support the smooth performance of damage adjusters so that damage can be relieved quickly.

A1 Damage Assessment Co., Ltd., which received the order for this service, plans to open an on-site office in Pohang soon and start the damage assessment business in earnest from early November.

For the cases received for damage relief, within 6 months after receipt (can be extended by 1 month for fact-finding, etc.), these damage assessment specialists conduct fact-finding and calculation of the amount of damage. Through the process, victim recognition and payment decisions are made.

Kwon Hyeok-won, head of Earthquake Special Support Group, said, “Even though Pohang citizens suffered enormous damage directly or indirectly due to the earthquake triggered on November 15, there is a lack of damage support under the Special Earthquake Act. We will ease the standard of support so that we can do it.”
