우리 지역 의성 얼마나 알고 있니?

【브레이크뉴스 경북 의성】이성현 기자=의성여자고등학교(교장 심훈섭)는 지난 24일 1, 2학년 희망 학생 44명을 대상으로 의성 서부지역으로의 문화유산 답사를 실시했다고 27일 밝혔다.

‘우리 지역 의성 얼마나 알고 있니?’란 주제로 진행된 지역문화유산 기록동아리의 고적답사는 의성군 교육경비지원 공모사업 중 하나로 교실에서 배운 교과서 내용들을 현장으로 옮겨 실제 지식으로 탐구하는 기회를 제공하기 위해 기획됐다.

 

코로나19로 인해 조심스러운 상황이지만 철저한 방역과 개인간 거리 지키기를 실천하며 떠난 의성여고의 고적답사팀은 5모둠으로 나누어 우리 지역 역사와 문화유산을 종합적으로 조사하고 발표하며 유적의 보존 가치에 대해 고민해보는 시간을 통해 애향심을 고양하고 과거와 현재의 관계에 있어서 균형 잡힌 관점을 갖춘 민주시민의 기본 품성을 지닐 수 있도록 준비됐다.

 

보물 제1831호인 대곡사 대웅전을 돌아 낙동강 3대 정자 중 하나로 꼽히는 관수루를 지나 생송리 마애보살좌상을 감돌아 얼룩배기 황소가 금빛 게으른 울음을 울 것 같은 너른 안계평야를 바라보며 내고장에 대한 자긍심을 키우는 시간이 되었다. 특히 3.1운동 경북 발상지인 비안을 찾아 국권회복을 위해 헌신했던 지역 참어른들의 발자취를 느낄 수 있는 계기가 됐다.

 

‘일제의 산미증식 계획과 관련한 안계평야의 건설과정 조사’를 담당했던 2모둠의 오윤진 학생은 “내 고장의 역사와 우리 지역, 우리 가족의 삶이 밀접하게 연결되어 있다는 것을 다시금 느끼는 계기가 되었다.”고 말하기도 했다.
