청송군에 따르면 열린어린이집이란 아동학대 근절 대책의 하나로 어린이집의 물리적 공간개방, 참여성, 지속가능성, 다양성, 지자체기준 등에 있어 부모의 일상적 참여가 이뤄지는 어린이집의 운영형태를 말한다.

청송군은 열린어린이집을 신청한 어린이집을 대상으로 선정항목에 따라 평가를 진행하였으며, 평가결과 신규어린이집으로는 청송하나, 예람어린이집 2개소가 선정되었고 한누리어린이집은 지난해에 이어 열린어린이집으로 연속으로 선정돼 현재 청송군내 9개 어린이집 중 3개소의 어린이집이 열린어린이집으로 지정·운영 중이다.

윤경희 청송군수는 “앞으로도 부모님들이 우리 아이를 믿고 맡길 수 있는 보육환경을 조성하고, 부모와 함께하는 다양한 참여 활동 등에 앞장서는 열린어린이집이 더욱 확대 될 수 있도록 최선을 다하겠다.”고 말했다.
