동국대 경주캠퍼스, 원전지역 차세대 인재 양성 위한 ‘다문화 집현전’김장담그기 체험 통해 다문화가정 학생들의 한국 문화에 대한 이해 증진【브레이크뉴스 경주】박영재 기자=경주 동국대학교는 지난 26일 경주 외동중학교에서 다문화가정 학생들을 대상으로 ‘다문화 집현전’을 진행했다고 27일 밝혔다.
경주동국대에 따르면 ‘다문화 집현전’은 동국대 경주캠퍼스가 한수원의 지원을 받아 운영하는 '원전지역 차세대 인재양성을 위한 UHCP’ 프로그램의 일환이다.
학생들이 김치 담그는 방법을 조사하고 발표하면서 한국어 역량을 키웠으며, 직접 담근 김치를 시식하며 한국 문화에 대한 이해를 높였다. 학생들이 만든 김치는 각 다문화가정에 전달됐다.
행사에 참여한 응위엔탄탓 학생(외동중 3)은 “김치를 먹어본 적은 있지만, 김치에 대해 알아보고 직접 만들어 본 것은 처음이라 재미있었다. 만든 김치를 집에 가져가서 부모님께 자랑하고 싶다”고 말했다.
멘토인 동국대 파라미타칼리지 자유전공학부 이주현 강사는 “다문화가정 학생들이 우리의 전통문화와 생활풍습을 깊이 이해해 소외감을 느끼지 않고 또래와의 화합을 통해 건강한 학교생활을 할 수 있었으면 한다”라고 말했다.
프로그램 책임자인 박노현 동국대 인문콘텐츠학부 교수는 “이번 김장 체험이 다문화가정 학생들의 문화적 거리를 좁힐 기회가 되었다고 생각한다”며 “앞으로도 다문화가정 학생들이 우리 사회의 소중한 인재로 성장할 수 있도록 지원과 협조를 아끼지 않겠다.”고 말했다.
한편 동국대 경주캠퍼스는 한수원의 지원을 받아 진행하는 ‘원전지역 차세대 인재양성을 위한 UHCP’를 통해 동국대 경주캠퍼스 교수들이 지역 중-고교생들의 멘토가 되어 ‘스마트 세대공감, 천년고도 안전고도, 안전한 기숙사‘ 등 다양한 대학-고교 연계 교육 프로그램을 운영하고 있다.
