【브레이크뉴스 경북 경산】이성현 기자=대구한의대학교(총장 변창훈)는 교육부가 지원하는 2021년 ‘국제협력 선도대학 육성지원사업’에 선정됐다고 30일 밝혔다.

본 사업은 교육부 국제협력분야의 대표적인 ODA(공적 개발원조)교육 지원사업으로 국내 대학의 자원 및 역량을 활용하여 개발도상국가 대학에 필요한 학과 구축과 지역사회개발 프로그램을 2021년~2027년 동안 7년에 걸쳐 지원하는 사업이다.

이번 국제협력 선도대학사업에는 전국에 걸쳐 4개 대학이 선정되었는데, 사립 대학으로서는 유일하게 대구한의대가 신규 대학으로 선정됐다.

대구한의대는 한국국제협력단(KOICA)의 국제개발협력 이해증진사업을 지난 5년 동안 성공적으로 수행해오면서 축적한 국제개발협력분야의 다양한 경험과 글로벌 네트워크 구축을 바탕으로 대학의 특성화 영역인 화장품공학분야와 국제개발협력 분야를 창의적으로 연계한 사업내용을 제안하여 최종 선정됐다.

대구한의대학교는 이번 국제협력 선도대학 사업을 통하여 베트남의 최고의 명문대학의 하나인 호치민기술대학교에 화장품공학 전공을 베트남 최초로 신설하고 관련 교육 인프라 구축과 전문인력 양성을 통하여 베트남의 화장품 산업발전과 양국의 국제협력관계 증진을 더욱 공고히 할 계획이다.

또한 이와 더불어 지역사회 취약계층 여성을 대상으로 K-Beauty와 관련한 직업교육프로그램을 운영하여 직업역량 강화를 지원하고 동시에 화장품 산업 분야의 선두 주자로서 산학연관 국제협력 네트워크도 구축할 예정이다

변창훈 총장은 “이번 지원사업 선정으로 신남방 핵심국가인 베트남에 대한 교육분야의 인적, 물적 교류협력의 활성화와 글로벌 산학협력 추진을 더욱 강화하여 명실상부한 글로벌 선도대학으로 자리매김할 수 있도록 대학차원에서 전폭적으로 지원하겠다” 말했다.

또한 대구한의대 국제협력 선도대학 육성지원단 책임을 맡고 있는 유왕근 의과학대학장(글로벌헬스케어센터장)은 “국제개발협력의 큰 틀내에서 우리 대학의 특성화 전략과 결합시켜 이번 사업을 준비해온 만큼 기존의 국제개발협력분야 교육사업과 차별화된 모범적인 사례로 발전시켜 베트남뿐만 아니라 전세계에 확산시키고 싶다”고 밝혔다.

Through this international cooperation leading university project, Daegu Haany University newly established a major in cosmetic engineering at Ho Chi Minh University of Technology, one of Vietnam's top prestigious universities, and established a related educational infrastructure and fostered professional manpower to develop the cosmetic industry in Vietnam. It plans to further strengthen the promotion of international cooperative relations between the two countries.

In addition, K-Beauty-related vocational education programs will be operated for women from vulnerable groups in the local community to support vocational competency reinforcement, and at the same time, as a leader in the cosmetic industry, an industry-university-related international cooperation network will be established.

President Byeon Chang-hoon said, “By selecting this support project, we will promote human and material exchange and cooperation in the field of education and promote global industry-university cooperation in Vietnam, a key country in the new southern region, so that it can become a leading global university. I will fully support it.”

In addition, Wang-geun Yoo, head of the Global Health Care Center, who is in charge of the Daegu Haany University International Cooperation Leading University Promotion Support Group, said, “Within the big framework of international development cooperation, we have prepared this project by combining our university's specialized strategy. “We want to develop into an exemplary case differentiated from the education project in the field of cooperation and spread it to not only Vietnam but also the world.”
