【브레이크뉴스 경북 문경】이성현 기자=문경시는 지난 1월 18일 부터 시작된 ‘코로나19극복 방역일자리’사업에 대학생 30명을 선발 투입했다고 21일 밝혔다.

문경시에 따르면 코로나19 확산세가 전국적으로 지속되는 가운데, 선제적이고 창의적 방역체계를 통해 지역사회의 안전을 지켜가고 있던 시는 보다 강화된 방역의 필요성에 의해 자체적인 방역일자리사업을 추진하게 됐다.

방역의 시급성을 고려하여 신속하게 방역일자리사업 계획을 수립하고, 코로나19 상황에 아르바이트 등 구직에 어려움을 겪고 있는 대학생을 참여대상으로 선정했다.

지난 7일부터 13일까지 7일간 문경시 홈페이지를 통해 온라인 접수를 받은 결과 159명의 대학생이 신청했으며, 공정성과 투명성을 높이기 위해, 전산프로그램을 통하여 대상자를 추첨하고, 온라인 화상회의(zoom)를 통해 생중계하여 최종적으로 30명의 참여자를 선발했다.

선발된 30명의 대학생 방역일자리 참여자들은 다중이용시설 위주의 현장에 배치되어 한 달간 방역업무를 수행하게 된다. 장례식장과 결혼식장을 이용하는 방문객들에게 방역수칙을 안내하고 출입자를 관리하게 되며, 버스터미널 ․ 택시승강장 등 대중교통시설에도 배치되어 외지에서 유입되는 방문객의 방역안전을 강화하고, 학원 ․ 식품 및 공중위생업소 ․ PC방과 노래연습장 등의 방역점검과 예찰업무에 담당공무원과 같이 동행하게 된다.

또한 종교시설, 경로당, 전통시장의 방역에도 직접 투입되어 지역 방역에 대한 젊은 층의 직접 참여가 이뤄져 강화된 방역 효과는 물론, 젊은 층의 방역 참여가 지역민의 관심을 높이는 효과 또한 기대할 수 있게 됐다.

김석진 일자리경제과장은 “코로나19극복 방역일자리는 겨울철 감염병 확산을 차단하고자 고위험시설의 관리를 중점적으로 하고 있다. 5대1의 경쟁률을 뚫고 선발된 대학생 참여자 전원 참여의지가 매우 높았던 것으로 보아 효과적인 방역 결과를 기대해도 좋을 것이다”고 전하며, 강화된 방역과 젊은 일자리 발굴의 두 가지 효과를 가져 올 금번 코로나19극복 대학생 방역일자리에 대한 전시민적 관심을 당부했다.
