지난 25일 도시재생 주민협의체를 대상으로 현장지원센터 월례회 및 행정협의회를 개최해 사업추진에 대한 보고 및 토론을 진행했다.

성주군에 따르면 1단계사업은 2018년도에 사업이 선정되어 기존 성주버스터미널 부지를 이용하여 창의문화교류센터를 건립하며, 생활SOC 확충에 따른 가족센터·국공립어린이집·공영주차장·다목적광장·경관정비사업 등을 추진중으로,이와 더불어 ‘성주읍 시장·경산길 경관정비사업’은3월 착공을 목표로 사업을 추진 중이다.

2단계 사업은 2020년도에 사업이 선정되어 별의별 어울림 복합센터(성주읍 행정복지센터 및 생활 SOC복합화)·건강문화 캠퍼스(체육관 리모델링 및 주차장)·문화마당(거점주차장 및 공원) 등 추진중으로 현재 실시설계용역을 착수하여 부서간 행정협의회를 통해 사업추진 협의 중이며, 10월 착공을 목표로 하고 있다.

이병환 성주군수는 “1단계 사업은 금년말 준공을 하여 도심의 활력을 불어넣을 것이며, 또한 2단계 사업은 23년말 준공을 하여 행정혁신과 주변 상권을 활성화할 것이다. 이처럼 도시재생 1·2단계 추진으로 성주군 도심 활력에큰 시너지 효과가 발생할 것으로 기대되며, 지금처럼 원활히 사업을 추진하여 성주읍 재생에 최선을 다할 것이다.”고 전했다.
