경상북도개발공사에 따르면 이 신임사장은31년간 LH에서 근무하며 주거복지처장, 도시재생계획처장,인사관리처장, 사업계획실장, 전략사업본부장 등 주요 요직을 역임한 전문가로 알려져 있다.

이 신임사장은 9일 취임사에서 어려운 경영환경 속 새로운 도약과 발전을 위한 4가지 경영방침을 제시했다. 4가지 경영방침은 ‘현안과제 완수와 성장동력 발굴’, ‘지역균형발전 실현’, ‘책임경영’, ‘소통하는 기업문화 정착’이다.

이 신임사장은 특히, 도청신도시가 경북 북부지역의 중심지로 우뚝 설 수 있는 방안을 모색하고, 수익사업과 공익사업의 균형을 강조하였다. 또한 시군과 협업으로 공공디벨로퍼로서의 역할을 강화할 것을 제시하고, 임직원들에게 국민 눈높이에 맞는 청렴한 공직자의 자세를 당부했다.

코로나19와 인구감소 등 녹록치 않은 지역여건 속에서 경북개발공사 수장으로 취임한 이 신임사장은 “공사의 존립근거는 도민들의 신뢰와 사랑이다. 주민들의 의견을 끊임없이 경청하여 도민으로부터 사랑받는 공기업이 되겠다”고 밝혔다.
