【브레이크뉴스 포항】오주호 기자=신원종합개발(주)이 경북 포항시 북구 득량동 141번지에 재건축공사를 진행 중인 가운데 지하 터파기 공사 과정에서 현장 인근 주택과 도로 침하는 물론 건물에 균열이 발생하고 있어 주민들이 불안에 떨고 있다.
주민들은 “시행사인 신원종합개발에 이같은 민원을 지난해 공사 진행 이후 제기했으나 시공사는 대책에 대한 답변은 없고 지속적으로 터파기 공사를 진행하고 있어 더 많은 피해가 발생하고 있다”고 울분을 토했다.
이와 관련 본지 취재중 현장을 책임지고 있는 소장은 “지반침하 발생과 건물에 대한 균열 현상은 지난 포항지진 때문에 발생했을 수 도 있다”는 취지의 발언을 해 주민들의 분노가 극에 달하고 있다.
특히 신원종합개발(주)은 지난 1월부터 지반침하 현상이 발생해 암암리에 보수공사를 진행하자 지역구 백인규 시의원이 “현장에서 마음대로 보수공사를 하지 말고 원인 파악부터 할 것을 요구했지만” 시행사는 이를 덮기 위한 수단으로 계속해서 땜질식 보수공사를 진행해 오고있다.
특히, 포항시는 주민들의 이같은 민원을 접수하고 시행사인 신원종합개발에 향후 조치계획서를 제출할 것을 명령했지만 현재까지 제출하지 않은 것으로 확인됐다.
득량동 주민 A씨는 “신원종합개발 현장 소장이 지반침하 와 균열 현상이 지난 포항지진 당시 발생했을 수도 있다"고 말한 것에 대해 "현장에서 책임을 회피하려는 수단으로 무책임한 발언"이라며, "지진 당시 한곳도 피해가 없어 지진피해 신고 조차 하지 않았는데 공사를 책임지고 있는 소장이란 사람이 어떻게 그런 말을 할 수가 있는지 치가 떨린다”고 말했다.
