Uljin-gun 13th Korea Cup International Yacht Competition held

Uljin-gun (gun Chan-geol Jeon) announced on the 17th that it will hold the 13th Korea Cup International Yacht Tournament, which will return to Dokdo with the East Sea for five days from the 24th to the 28th.

This competition will be fiercely contested with the participation of about 300 athletes and 34 yachts from 8 countries, and is hosted by Uljin-gun and co-hosted by the Korea Cup International Yacht Tournament Organizing Committee and Gyeongbuk Yacht Association.

The Korea Cup International Yacht Tournament celebrated its 13th anniversary this year as a festival to promote the beautiful East Sea and Dokdo to the world and to foster harmony and friendship among yachts. It is the longest-distance yachting event in Korea with an ocean race of 448 km.

As the military tournament is held in the context of the ongoing Corona 19, foreign players have only received applications for participation from domestic residents, and the match will be played without spectators.

In addition, all players and officials were required to submit PCR tests, and they are fully prepared to prevent the spread of COVID-19 in the region by thoroughly complying with the government's social distancing quarantine guidelines such as omission of incidental events.

Uljin County Mayor Jeon Chan-geol said, “It is regrettable that the citizens and tourists cannot participate in this tournament due to many restrictions such as the COVID-19 pandemic.
