영덕군(군수 이희진)은 11일 청년들의 주거복지 개선을 위해 한국해비타트와 경상북도, 경북사회복지공동모금회, 영덕문화관광재단과 함께 ‘희망의 이동식 청년주택 지원사업’ 업무협약(MOU)을 체결했다고 11일 밝혔다.

영덕군은 이번 사업을 통해 영해면 성내리 영해장터거리(근대역사문화거리) 인근에 청년층에 친화적인 모듈형 이동식 목조주택 10채를 한국해비타트 및 경북사회복지공동모금회와 함께 지원할 계획이다.

현재 영해면은 청년마을만들기 사업(뚜벅이마을) 등 각종 청년 관련 사업이 추진되고 있어 청년들의 유입이 늘어날 것으로 전망됨에 따라 이번 사업을 통해 영해면에 정착·거주하는 청년들의 주거부담을 덜어줌으로써 보다 안정적인 지역정착을 유도할 것으로 기대된다.

만19~39세 청년들에게 제공될 이동식 목조주택은 영덕문화관광재단이 운영을 맡을 예정이며, 영덕군은 가구와 가전을 지원하는 등 안락하고 청년 친화적인 주거환경을 조성한다는 방침이다.

이희진 영덕군수는 “행정적인 지원을 아끼지 않은 경상북도, 그리고 기부금을 통해 한국해비타트와 경북사회복지공동모금회가 값진 사업을 펼칠 수 있도록 지원해주신 모든 분들께 감사드린다”고 고개를 숙이며, “이번 사업을 통해 주거불안을 겪고 있는 청년들이 지역에 튼실한 뿌리를 내리는 계기가 될 수 있도록 다각적인 청년지원정책을 꼼꼼히 펼쳐나가겠다”고 다짐했다.
