외과 정호근(56) 교수가 3월 1일자로 동국대학교경주병원 제21대 병원장으로 임명됐다.
신임 정호근 병원장은 동국대학교 의과대학을 졸업하고 외과 전문의를 취득하였으며, 외과학, 대장ㆍ항문질환을 전문분야로 하고 있다.
현재 대한외과학회, 대한대장항문학회, 대한내시경복강경외과학회, 대한환자영양지원학회 등 대외활동도 활발하게 활동하고 있다. 또한 2019년부터 2020년까지 미국 알버트 아인슈타인 의과대학에 교환교수로 다녀왔으며, 동국대학교경주병원 진료부장, QI실장 등 역임했다.
