더불어민주당 당헌당규 제77조 1항에 의거하면 지역구 지방의회 의원선거에 후보자를 추천 할 때에는 국회의원 지역구마다 광역 기초의회 의원 정수 중 여성을 1명 이상, 청년을 1명 이상 추천하여야 한다.

그러나 앞서 더불어민주당 대구시당이 이를 반영하지 않은 채 후보자를 공천하면서 문제가 제기됐다.

이로 인해 단수공천으로 발표되었던 북구 다 지역의 박윤제 예비후보가 오영준 예비후보로 변경, 운명이 뒤바뀔 것으로전망된다.

북구 사 지역에서 단수 추천이 확정되었던 김칠상 예비후보도 채장식 예비후보와 경선에서 맞붙게 될 가능성이 커졌다.
