경북도는 중소벤처기업부와 함께 지역 중소기업 중에서 최근 3년간 평균 매출액 50~400억원, 매출 증가율, 연구개발 투자 비중 등이 높은 혁신성장 기업을 선정해 스타기업으로 육성하고 있다.

지난 2월 모집공고를 통해 37개사 기업이 신청 접수됐고 요건검토와 현장실사, 발표평가를 거쳐 총15개사를 최종 선정했다.

선정기업 15개사는 동성테크노스, 디에스엔프라, 명신, 미래세라텍, 불스, 삼성텍, 세운티엔에스, 슈가에코, 신우신, 알케이, 에이치에스해성, 제이엠테크, 제일산기, 태동테크, 호성에이비오 이다.

2.4대 1의 전국 최고 경쟁률을 기록하는 등 타 시도 보다 스타기업에 대한 지역 기업들의 관심이 높았다.

올해 선정된 스타기업은 3년간 연평균 성장률은 매출 26.3%, 수출 20.3%, 고용 8.1%, 3년 평균 연구개발투자비율 3.9%로 성장성이 높고 기술개발 역량이 뛰어난 기업들이다.

도는 이들 기업에 대해 중장기 아이템발굴을 위한 성장전략수립과 마케팅 전략수립을 비롯해 R&D기획, 전담PM 컨설팅 등 최대 4500만원 규모의 프로그램을 지원할 예정이며 내년부터는 최대 3억원 규모의 기술개발 자금도 지원할 계획이다.

한편, 스타기업 육성사업은 2018년부터 올해까지 76개 업체를 선정했으며, 17개 기업이 지정 만료·졸업했고 현재 59개 기업이 지정돼 있다.

특히, 산업·환경 변화에 선제적 대응을 위해 교수 등 전문가를 전담 연구과제 관리자(PM)로 매칭해 기술개발, 사업화, 수출역량 강화 등을 지원했다.

이를 통해 아이제이에스, 네이처팜, 테스크, 에이스나노켐, 대성계전 등 5개사를 글로벌 강소기업으로, 루소, 대동에스엠, 지텍 등 3개사를 지역혁신 선도기업으로, 원바이오젠을 코넥스 상장에 이어 코스닥 상장기업으로 육성하는 등 괄목할 만한 성과를 내고 있다.
