경상북도에 따르면 이날 행사에는 이철우 경북도지사, 주낙영 경주시장, 주영수 국립중앙의료원장, 이경수 경북공공보건의료지원단장, 시군, 책임의료기관 등이 참석했다.

이번 행사는 새로운 경북으로의 도약을 위한 민선 8기의 시작과 함께 경북공공보건의료지원단 출범에 맞춰 공공보건의료에 관한 비전을 구체화하고, 도민의 건강을 끝까지 지키겠다는 의지를 표명하기 위해 마련됐다.

이날 행사는 경북도 공공보건의료 비전 및 추진전략 영상시청과 비전선포식이 진행됐다.

또 ▷임준 국립중앙의료원 본부장의 ‘공공보건의료 지원단의 운영성과와 전략’ ▷이경수 공공보건의료지원단장의 ‘공공·민간 간 협력적 거버넌스’ ▷김종연 대구시 공공보건의료지원단장의 ‘공공보건의료에서의 도민 참여방안’이란 주제발표도 이어졌다.

아울러, ‘경상북도 공공보건의료에 바란다’라는 주제로 패널들이 참여해 토론이 펼쳐지며 공공보건의 미래전략, 경북 보건의료 강화를 위한 협력적 거버넌스 구축 방안 등에 대해 논의했다.

한편, 경북도는 지난해 공공보건의료에 관한 조례 제정을 시작으로 올해 4월 공공보건의료에 관한 중요한 사항을 심의하고, 도민의 체감도를 높이기 위해 수요자·공급자·전문가 등으로 구성된 공공보건의료위원회를 설치했다.

또 경북을 6개의 중진료권으로 나눠 공공병원들을 중심으로 책임의료기관을 선정해 ▷퇴원환자 연계 ▷중증응급환자 이송 지원 ▷감염병 관리 등 필수의료 협력체계 구축을 위해 애쓰고 있다.

특히, 올 하반기부터는 공공보건의료 정책의 발굴과 실행을 지원하기 위한 전문지원조직으로 공공보건의료 지원단 출범을 본격화함으로써 공공보건의료의 기틀을 다져가고 있다.

지금까지 공공보건의료지원단은 5.8억원의 예산을 투입해 이경수 단장을 중심으로 7명의 연구원이 근무하고 있다.

향후 도민의 기본건강권 보장과 필수의료 강화를 위해 추진되고 있는 지방의료원의 경북대학교 위탁운영과 중장기적 차원의 상급 종합병원 분원 유치까지 관련 현안들도 단계적으로 추진해 나갈 방침이다.

이철우 경북도지사는 “오늘 비전선포식은 도민의 건강을 끝까지 지키겠다는 의지의 표명이자 도민 인식의 반영이다”며 “다양한 관계기관들의 협력 인프라와 지속적인 지원을 통해 경북의 열악한 의료환경을 개선해 나가겠다”고 밝혔다.
