【브레이크뉴스 경북】이성현 기자=경상북도와 안동시는 14일 개막을 시작으로 16일까지 3일간 안동국제컨벤션센터에서 ‘커뮤니티 활성화를 통한 미래 역사도시 창조’라는 주제로‘제18회 세계역사도시회의’를 진행한다고 밝혔다.

 이번 회의에서는 이상해 국민대학교 석좌교수의 기조강연, 회원도시 정책 사례발표 원탁회의, 국내외 문화‧관광 전문가 회의 등이 열리며, 16일 폐회식에서는 안동선언문 발표와 회의 총평 등으로 마무리된다.

안동선언문은 디지털 기술을 결합한 미래역사도시 조성, 지속가능발전목표 달성, 지역사회문화 보전 및 재생, 유익한 상생 관계 조성, 지역사회 구성원들의 공동체 생활 유지, 젊은이들이 모이고 공감하는 삶의 기반 마련, 스마트한 역사도시 발전 등의 내용을 담고 있다.

이를 통해 지역사회를 중심으로 역사도시가 재생될 수 있도록 정보교류와 상호관계를 통해 서로의 경험과 실천을 공유할 것을 다짐한다.

한편 1987년 10월 일본 교토시에서 설립된 세계역사도시연맹은 65개국 125개 도시가 회원으로 가입해 있으며 국내에는 이번 회의를 개최하는 안동시와 이사도시인 경주시를 비롯해 부여군, 공주시, 수원시가 함께 참여하고 있다.

연맹은 역사도시의 공통 과제 해결을 위한 정보공유, 지방도시의 활성화와 공생, 도시간의 교류 촉진 등을 목적으로 지난 35년간 18회의 회의를 개최하며 협력관계를 구축을 위해 다양한 방법으로 교류를 확대해가고 있다

이철우 경북도지사는 “4차 산업혁명시대 역사도시 역할은 더 커졌다”며, “도시의 정체성을 재정립하고, 미래가치 창출을 위한 국제적 교류를 통해 역사도시의 새로운 비전을 만들어 가길 바란다”고 말했다.
