【브레이크뉴스 대구】진예솔 기자=국립금오공과대학교(총장 곽호상)와 육군본부(참모총장 박정환)가 사이버보안 분야 공동연구 및 AI 과학기술 전문인력 양성 추진을 위해 업무협약을 체결했다고 8일 밝혔다.

지난 7일 금오공대 본관 중회의실에서 첨단 군사과학기술의 공동연구와 기술협력을 위해 열린 업무협약식에는 금오공대 곽호상 총장과 오명훈 산학협력부총장, 허장욱 산학협력단장, 이경일 육군정보화기획참모부장, 김종석 SW융합정책과장 등이 참석했다.

이날 양 기관은 금오공대의 R&D 인프라를 통해 육군의‘국방혁신 4.0’을 구현할 수 있도록 협력하는데 약속했다.

‘국방혁신 4.0’은 4차 산업혁명 과학기술을 기반으로 한 혁신을 통해 AI과학기술강군을 육성하기 위한 것으로 ▶메타버스 플랫폼 개발 ▶첨단 ICT ▶사이버보안 분야 공동연구 ▶AI 과학기술 전문인력 양성 ▶상호 관심 분야 발전 위한 세미나 및 학술회의 공동개최 등이다. 

 곽호상 금오공대 총장은 “첨단 군사과학기술 분야의 공동 연구를 통해 양성된 전문 인력은 AI 과학기술을 바탕으로 한 첨단 육군으로의 도약을 이끌 것으로 기대된다.”며, “4차 산업혁명과 연계된 대학의 기술, 인력, 역량을 바탕으로 성공적인 학군 협력 모델이 될 수 있도록 노력하겠다.”고 말했다.

이경일 정보화기획참모부장은 “금오공대의 우수한 연구 인력과의 협력을 통해 경쟁 우위의 AI과학기술강군을 육성하여 국가 발전의 새로운 성장 동력으로 확장될 수 있도록 하겠다.”고 말했다.
