이날 발언에 나선 더불어민주당 달서갑 권택흥 지역위원장은 “대구시가 신청사 부지를 매각을 전제로 한 예산안을 올렸고 이에 반대했던 대구시의회는 예산안을 전액 삭감 해버렸다.”면서 “대구시의원들이 원한 이행을 고수하려고 했다면 전액을 삭감하는 방식이 아니라 증액을 통해서 원한대로 이행될 수 있도록 하는 이런 노력들이 필요했는데 전체를 다 삭감해버린 취지나 내막이 궁금할 정도로 황당하다.”고 말했다.
