【브레이크뉴스 대구】진예솔 기자=국립금오공과대학교(총장 곽호상)가  ‘제2회 경상북도 평생학습대상’ 공모에서 기관·단체부문 최우수상을 수상 했다고 30일 밝혔다.

대학에 따르면 이번 공모전에는 도내 23개 시·군 소속 기관 및 시민을 대상으로 한 ‘경상북도 평생학습 대상’은 경상북도가 주최하고 (재)경상북도인재평생교육진흥원가 주관하여 평생학습을 실천하는 다양한 우수사례 발굴을 위해 진행되었다.

금오공대 평생교육원은 ‘지역사회와 함께 성장하는 교육원’이라는 비전 아래, 경북도민 행복대학 사업, 경북 예술로 사업 등을 통해 지역민에게 다양한 평생교육 프로그램을 제공했다. 

또한 공학교육 연계 일자리 창출 및 취업연계활동 교육과 학습자의 재능기부를 통한 봉사활동, 지역민을 위한 문화 공간 등을 제공하는 사회공헌 활동도 지속적으로 이어오고 있을 뿐만 아니라 장애인들을 위한 체험 및 재활 프로그램을 운영하며 사회적 가치를 창출하는 데도 앞장서며 좋은 평가를 받고 있다.

이를 통해 이번 공모에서 기관·단체부문 최우수상을 수상한 금오공대 평생교육원은 향후에도 다양한 프로그램 개발로 시민들에게 자기계발 및 학위취득 기회를 제공할 예정이다.

김영형 금오공대 평생교육원장은 “이번 수상은 대학이 보유한 우수한 인적 자원과 축적된 지식, 시설 및 기술적 자원을 활용해 지속 가능하고 창의적인 평생교육을 제공하기 위해 노력한 성과”라며, “앞으로도 수준 높고 체계적인 평생교육 프로그램을 통해 지역민의 희망적인 미래 설계를 지원하고, 지역과 함께 성장하는 대학이 되도록 노력하겠다”고 말했다.
