국도 위험도로 및 병목지점 개선사업은 도로구조가 취약하여 교통사고 위험이 크거나 교통 소통이 원활하지 않은 구간을 개선하기 위해 국토교통부에서 5년 단위 기본계획을 수립하여 전액 국비로 추진하는 사업이다.
이번 7단계 기본계획에 반영된 사업은 2개소, 215억원으로 국도4호선 대구 혁신동 ~ 하양 남하리 단구간 확장사업(200억원), 국도25호선 남천 협석리 회전교차로 설치사업(15억원)으로 올해부터 투자 우선순위에 따라 순차적으로 추진될 예정이다.
조현일 경산시장은 “이번 기본계획에 반영된 사업을 통해 교통사고 발생 감소, 정체 구간 흐름 개선 등 시민 불편 사항이 크게 개선될 것으로 기대한다”고 밝혔다.
