2일 군에 따르면 이번 동계 전지훈련은 지난 1월 30일부터 2월 18일까지 청송국민체육센터에서 중등부, 고등부, 대학부, 실업팀으로 구분해 1, 2차에 걸쳐 실시되고 있다.

청송군을 찾은 서산성림중, 밀양여고, 인하대학교, 김천시청, 고양시청을 비롯한 전국의 20개팀 300여 명의 배드민턴 선수들이 실력향상을 위해 훈련에 매진하고 있다.

선수 및 학부모, 코치진들은 “맑은 공기와 깨끗한자연이 있는 산소카페 청송군에서 전지훈련을 실시해 능률이 배로 오르고 있다.”며 “앞으로도 청송에서 전지훈련을 할 수 있는 기회가많았으면 좋겠다.”고 만족감을 표현했다.

특히 훈련기간 중 선수, 학부모, 코치진 등 700여명이 훈련과 더불어 주왕산 등 청송관광명소를 방문하고 지역의 상가, 온천 등을 이용하고 있어, 청송의 도시브랜드 이미지를 높이는가 하면 지역 경제에도 활력을불어넣는 등 일석이조의 효과를 보이고 있다.

청송군체육회 이상곤 회장은 “전국 각지에서 여러 선수들이 청송을 찾아 훈련을 하고 있어 너무 기쁘며, 선수 및 관계자들이 불편함 없이 운동에 전념할 수 있도록 최선을 다하겠다.”고 말했다.

윤경희 청송군수는 “제법 쌀쌀한 겨울 날씨에도 힘차게 훈련에 매진하는 전국 배드민턴 선수들이 청송에서 실시한 전지훈련을 기회로 세계 최고의 선수로 성장하기를 바란다.”고 전했다.
