【브레이크뉴스 대구】진예솔 기자=국립금오공과대학교(총장 곽호상)가 구미시와 함께 대표단을 구성하고 다양한 국제 교류 협력 방안 모색에 나섰다.

곽호상 총장은 지난 2일, 대학의 글로벌 경쟁력 강화를 위해 프랑스 그르노블 알프스대학교(Universite Grenoble Alpes; UGA)를 방문해 글로벌 인재 교류를 추진하는 학술교류 협약을 맺었다.

6일 대학에 따르면 이날 협약식에는 곽호상 총장을 비롯해 야신 라크네쉬(Yassine Lakhnech) 그르노블 알프스대학교 총장 등 양 기관 관계자가 참석해 공동연구 및 학생교류 추진 협력을 약속했다.

이번 순방은 구미시와 연계한 것으로 곽호상 총장은 김장호 구미시장, 주프랑스 대한민국 대사관 참사관 일행과 함께 크리스토프 페라리(Christophe Ferrari) 그르노블 알프스 메트로폴 의장과 면담을 하고 양 도시 간 교류에 대해 논의했다.

또한 구미-유럽 비즈니스 교류회, CEA 연구소, 슈나이더 일렉트릭사 방문 등을 소화하며 지자체 및 대학교와 광범위한 교류 협력 방안을 모색하는 시간을 가졌다.

앞서 금오공대는 2월 25일부터 3월 4일까지 곽호상 총장, 이현권 기획협력처장, 권오형 강소특구육성사업단장, 임기무 국제교류교육원장이 스페인 및 프랑스를 방문하기도 했다.

6박 8일간 진행된 일정 동안 곽호상 총장과 일행은 바르셀로나에서 개최된 세계 최대 이동통신 박람회인 ‘2023 모바일월드콩그레스(MWC)’를 참관해 미래 통신 기술 및 글로벌 기술 혁신의 현재를 확인했으며, 대학 부속 연구소 견학 등을 통해 국제 학술 및 학생 교류 등을 확대할 계획이다.

  곽호상 총장은 “금오공대는 세계적인 IT산업단지 안에서 지역 혁신을 추진하며 지속가능한 미래를 개척하는 새로운 발걸음을 준비하고 있다”며, “지자체와 함께 한 이번 국제 교류를 바탕으로 글로벌 역량을 가진 인재를 양성해 지역과 함께하는 글로컬 대학으로서 미래 과학 기술을 이끌도록 최선을 다하겠다.”고 말했다.

Kumoh National University of Technology (President Kwak Ho-sang) formed a delegation with Gumi City to seek various international exchange and cooperation plans.

On the 2nd, President Kwak Ho-sang visited the University of Grenoble Alpes (UGA) in France to strengthen the university's global competitiveness and signed an academic exchange agreement to promote global talent exchange.

Representatives from both institutions, including President Ho-Sang Kwak and President Yassine Lakhnech of Grenoble Alps University, attended the signing ceremony and promised to cooperate in promoting joint research and student exchange.

This visit was in connection with Gumi City, and President Kwak Ho-sang met with Gumi Mayor Kim Jang-ho and a delegation from the Counselor of the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in France to meet Christophe Ferrari, chairman of the Grenoble Alpes Metropole, and discussed exchanges between the two cities.

In addition, they had time to explore a wide range of ways to exchange and cooperate with local governments and universities by digesting the Gumi-Europe business exchange meeting, visiting the CEA research center, and Schneider Electric.

Previously, from February 25th to March 4th, Kumoh Institute of Technology President Kwak Ho-sang, Director of Planning and Cooperation Department Lee Hyeon-kwon, Small Jiangsu Special Zone Development Project Director Kwon Oh-hyung, and International Exchange and Education Director Lim Gi-moo visited Spain and France.

During the 6 nights and 8 days schedule, President Kwak Ho-sang and his party observed the '2023 Mobile World Congress (MWC)', the world's largest mobile communication exhibition held in Barcelona, and confirmed the present of future communication technology and global technological innovation. We plan to expand international academic and student exchanges through field trips.
