【브레이크뉴스 경주】박영재 기자=경주시는 방과 후 초등학생 돌봄 사각지대 해소를 위해 올해 1억4000만원의 예산을 들여 다함께돌봄센터 2곳을 올 11월까지 확충한다고 27일 밝혔다.

시에 따르면 다함께돌봄센터는 돌봄 사각지대에 있는 만 6세부터 12세 초등학생들에게 소득 수준에 상관없이 돌봄 서비스를 제공하는 사업으로 민선8기 핵심 공약사업 중 하나다.

센터는 돌봄 교사의 독서지도, 간식 등의 일상적 활동지원을 비롯해 외부 강사를 통한 영어동요, 창의 미술교육, 악기연주 등의 특기적성 교육과 아동별 맞춤형 상시·일시(긴급) 돌봄 서비스를 제공한다.

시는 공모를 통해 돌봄 수요와 인근 초등학교, 지역 여건 등을 고려한 입지분석 후 돌봄 수요가 많은 지역을 선정해 추진할 방침이다.

사회복지법인, 비영리단체 등 전문성을 갖춘 민간기관이 적합한 장소를 지정해 민간위탁 기관으로 선정되면 계약 체결일로부터 5년간 리모델링비와 기자재 구입비, 운영비 등 매년 약 1억원의 예산을 지원받게 된다.

신청 가능한 장소는 전용면적 66㎡ 이상인 아파트 주민공동시설(공동주택), 제1종 근린생활시설 및 노유자(노인과 어린아이)시설 등이다.

또 최소 5년 이상 무상제공이 가능해야 하며, 시설 주변 50m 이내에 청소년 출입 금지업소가 없고 접근성이 좋아야 한다.

시는 오는 6월 중 수탁기관을 모집해 7~9월 건물 리모델링 후 11월경 다함께돌봄센터 2곳을 개소할 예정이다. 이렇게 되면 올 연말 기존 6곳에 2곳이 더해져 총 8곳의 마을돌봄터가 운영되는 셈이다.

더불어 매년 수요조사를 통해 초등 돌봄 공백을 해소할 수 있도록 점진적으로 다함께돌봄센터를 확대해 나갈 계획이다.

주낙영 시장은 “방과 후 등에 초등학생 아이를 맡길 곳이 없어 걱정하는 일이 없도록 하겠다”라며 “부모와 아이 모두가 행복한 아이 키우기 좋은 경주시를 만들기 위해 양질의 돌봄서비스 제공과 함께 관련 시설을 지속적으로 확충해 나가겠다”고 말했다.
