POSCO Gallery, Opening of 'Art with Iron, Conversation with Old Paintings'

Starting with the opening on the 4th, POSCO announced on the 4th that it will hold a touring exhibition titled 'Art Meets Iron, Conversation with Old Paintings' at the POSCO Gallery in the head office in Pohang.

This exhibition is a Korean painting exhibition that was held at the POSCO Center in Seoul for a month from December last year. In particular, 10 works containing the sentiments of the Pohang region, including 'Memorial for three dragons in the mountains of Naeyeon', were additionally displayed for the Pohang touring exhibition. 83 pieces of Korean painting, each with a variety of techniques and materials, are displayed in four parts: Landscape Painting, Young Mo Flower Painting, Portrait Landscape, and Four Gracious Plants.

This exhibition is more meaningful in that it is possible to appreciate masterpieces of Korean painting in one place, as it was conducted by purchasing licenses for original works owned by the National Museum of Korea and Leeum Art Museum. A citizen who visited the exhibition that day said, "It seems to be more fun to see famous works such as Kim Jeong-hee's 'Sehando' and Jeong Seon's 'Naeyeonsansamyongchudo', which are familiar just by hearing their names."

As the name of the exhibition, 'Art with Iron, Conversation with Old Paintings', suggests, the works in this exhibition are eye-catching in that they are made of PosART (POSCO Advanced Resolution printing Technology) steel plates. ‘POSART’ is a high-resolution color steel plate printed on POSCO’s eco-friendly steel. It can capture colors clearly and does not have to worry about fading, so it is in the limelight not only in the art world, but also in home appliances and architecture.

In this exhibition, the feeling of paper or silk and the three-dimensional effect of ink lines are captured more vividly through Posart technology, and it is possible to directly touch the surface of the work. Unlike existing art works, it is possible to appreciate the work through the tactile sense, so an exhibition program for the visually impaired will also be held every Thursday.

An official from POSCO Gallery said, "To commemorate the 50th anniversary of the completion of the first phase of the Pohang Steelworks, we planned an exhibition where anyone can easily enjoy art by reconstructing works with PosArt, the original technology of the POSCO Group." I hope you can enjoy the representative works containing the essence of '.

The exhibition is scheduled to run until June 16, and viewing hours are from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm on weekdays. An exhibition commentary program is held three times a day (11:00 a.m., 2:00 p.m., 4:00 p.m.), where you can appreciate the works while listening to the explanations of professional docents, and you can view them for free without a separate reservation.

(Institutions and groups with more than 10 people require separate inquiry)
