【브레이크뉴스 포항】박영재 기자=포스코 포항제철소(소장 이백희)는 16일 포항 본사 대회의장에서 유홍준 前 문화재청장을 초청해 지역 주요 인사들 대상으로 '유홍준 교수가 알려주는 옛 그림 보는 눈' 문화 아카데미 강연을 개최했다고 밝혔다.
포스코는 지난 4일부터 포항제철소 1기 종합준공 50주년 기념 '철(鐵)만난 예술, 옛 그림과의 대화' 전시회를 개최 중이다. 이번 강연은 해당 전시회의 일환으로, ‘나의 문화유산 답사기’, ‘유홍준의 한국 미술사 강의’ 등을 집필한 유홍준 교수와 함께 일상적으로 지나쳤던 미술 작품의 가치와 소중함을 배우고 옛 그림들을 감상하는 안목을 높이는 시간으로 진행된다.
유 교수는 서울대 미학과를 졸업해 제3대 문화재청장과 명지대 미술사학과 교수를 역임하였다. 현재는 명지대학교 석좌교수와 한국학중앙연구원 이사장을 맡고 있고, 미술평론가로 활동 중이다.
포스코는 이번 강연에 지역 주요 기관·단체·언론·문화예술계 대표들과 포스코, 그룹사 임직원 등을 초청해 한국 미술의 아름다움과 옛 미술 문화의 우수성을 교류하는 시간을 가졌다.
강연엔 김남일 포항시 부시장, 박용선 경북도의회 부의장 등 주요 인사 30여 명과 이백희 포항제철소장 등 포스코 임원들이 참석해 자리를 빛냈다. 강연 시간 동안 유 교수는 국내외 옛 미술작품, 조형물 등을 통해 명작의 의미를 소개하고 참가자들과 작품 속에 담긴 한국 미술의 정체성에 대한 깊이 있는 대화를 나눴다.
한편, 포스코는 포항 본사 포스코갤러리에서 포항제철소 1기 종합준공 50주년 기념 '철(鐵)만난 예술, 옛 그림과의 대화'전시를 다음 달 16일까지 진행한다. 매주 목요일 시각 장애인을 위한 ‘배리어 프리’ 전시프로그램을 운영하며, 전시는 일반 시민들도 별도 예약 없이 무료 관람이 가능하다.

The lecture was attended by around 30 key figures including Kim Nam-il, Vice Mayor of Pohang City, Park Yong-sun, Vice Chairman of the North Gyeongsang Province Council, and POSCO executives, including Lee Baek-hee, Director of Pohang Works. During the lecture, Professor Yoo introduced the meaning of masterpieces through old works of art and sculptures at home and abroad, and had an in-depth conversation with the participants about the identity of Korean art contained in the works.
Meanwhile, POSCO is holding an exhibition titled 'Art Meets Iron, Conversation with Old Paintings' at the Pohang Headquarters POSCO Gallery until the 16th of next month to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the completion of the first phase of the Pohang Steelworks. Every Thursday, a ‘barrier-free’ exhibition program for the visually impaired is operated, and the general public can view the exhibition for free without a separate reservation.
