최근 반려동물 노령 동물의 증가로 인한 동물 재활치료의 중요성이 강조되면서 동물보건사 양성의 필요성 또한 증가하고 있다.

이에 대구한의대 반려동물보건학과는 동물보건사 양성 프로그램 및 현장실습 매뉴얼의 개발을 위해 VIP동물한방재활의학센터와 협약을 맺고 전문가 육성에 나선다고 밝혔다.

VIP 동물한방재활의학센터 CVA (동물침치료인증), CCRV, CRI (동물재활치료인증)를 이수하기 위한 수의사들이 필수적으로 거쳐야하는 인턴쉽 공인인증기관이다.

또한 한방 특화 동물병원으로 미국 수의과대학 병원에서도 처방되는 동물 전용한약 처방이 가능하며 근골격계나 디스크, 퇴행성 관절염 환자들을 위한 체외충격파치료, 레이저, 텐스, 초음파, 고압산소치료 등 다양한 재활치료들이 가능한 전문기관이다.
