【브레이크뉴스 경주】박희경 기자=경주시는 K-water 경북지역협력단과 함께 정수장에서 수도꼭지까지 수질‧수량 관리를 실시간 감시하고 자동 제어하는 통합운영 시스템을 도입했다고 16일 밝혔다.

시는 51억 원의 예산을 들여 2021년 3월부터 올해 11월까지 시 전역을 대상으로 스마트 관망관리 인프라 구축사업을 완료했다.

스마트 관망관리는 수돗물의 공급 모든 과정에 정보통신기술(ICT)을 도입해 주기적인 유지관리로 적수(붉은 수돗물=녹물) 등 상수도 사고 위험을 사전에 제거하고 사고 발생 시 신속하게 대응하는 시스템이다.

주요 사업으로 실시간 수질 감시 및 관리를 위한 정밀여과장치 6곳, 수질오염 신속 대응을 위한 자동드레인 3곳, 적수사고에 대비한 관 세척 장비 28곳을 설치했다.

또 수질측정장비를 비롯해 각종 수질사고 재발 방지를 위한 소규모 수량계 14곳, 스마트 미터링계, 스마트 수압계 등도 함께 설치했다.

이번 사업을 통해 실시간 수질·수압 감시, 관로 내부에 축적된 이물질 감지 및 오염물질 자동 배출이 가능해진다.

특히 스마트미터링 사업을 통한 원격검침시스템 구축으로 검침원이 가정을 직접 방문 확인하지 않고 디지털 계량기와 단말기를 통해 수도요금 부과가 된다.

더불어 관 세척으로 수도관 내부의 침전물, 녹 등을 제거해 수도 사고를 미연에 예방하고 깨끗한 수돗물을 제공할 수 있게 된다.

주낙영 시장은 “수도 녹물은 이젠 옛말이 됐다며, 이번 사업으로 수돗물의 안정적인 공급과 안전한 수질 관리 효과를 기대할 수 있을 것”이라며 “향후 수질민원 발생지역을 등을 중심으로 확대 설치를 하겠다”고 말했다.
