이날 주 시장은 먼저 SMR국가산단 유치, 중수로 해체기술원 착공, 미래차 첨단소재 성형가공센터 및 탄소소재 부품 리사이클링센터 준공, 대릉원 무료 개방 등을 지난해 핵심 성과로 꼽았다.

또 농촌협약(656억), 동남권 해양레저관광 거점 조성(490억), 어촌 신활력 증진(100억), 국민체육센터 건립(169억) 등 공모사업 총 35건 선정, 5732억 원의 사업비 확보로 역대 최대 규모 재정이라고 평가했다.

더불어 국민권익위 청렴도 2년 연속 1등급, 매니페스토 3년 연속 최우수 등급, 행정안전부 다산목민대상 수상 등 총 75개 수상으로 외부 평가에서도 탁월한 성과를 거둬 우리시의 위상을 드높였다고 설명했다.

지난해 주요 성과에 이어 주낙영 시장은 새해 주요 시정 방향을 소개하며, 경주 발전을 위한 청사진을 제시했다.

올해 최대 역점과제는 2025 APEC 정상회의 유치라며, 경주에서 정상회의가 유치될 수 있도록 마지막 결정의 순간까지 최선을 다 하겠다고 포부를 밝혔다.

또 세계유산 탐방거점센터, 문무대왕 해양역사관, 제2동궁원, 보문관광단지 관광역사공원 조성 등으로 현대 트렌드에 맞는 새로운 관광자원을 발굴해 관광객 5천만 시대를 열겠다고 약속했다.

특히 지역 경제를 살리기 위한 중심상권 르네상스 사업의 지속 추진과 경주형 e-커머스 활성화로 도심 경제를 부활시키고 중소상공인을 위한 맞춤형 정책 확대 추진으로 청년 유입과 일자리 창출을 도모 하겠다고 설명했다.

여기에 신농업혁신타운 조기 준공, 농촌중심지 활성화 사업, 동남권 해양레저관광 거점단지 등을 차질 없이 추진해 농축수산업에 신바람을 불러 일으키겠다고 말했다.
