【브레이크뉴스 포항】박영재 기자=POSTECH(포항공과대학교)은 최근 기계공학과 통합과정 김예슬·산업경영공학과 통합과정 박용헌 씨가 ‘2023 대한민국 인재상’을 수상했다고 10일 밝혔다.

교육부가 주최하고 한국장학재단이 주관하는 이 상은 다양한 분야에서 탁월한 연구와 성취를 통해 사회의 귀감이 된 인재를 선발하는 ‘청년 인재 포상제도’다.

김예슬 씨(지도교수 기계공학과·화학공학과 노준석)는 작년 빛을 사용하여 렌즈 하나로 촬영 모드를 전환하는 듀얼 메타렌즈를 개발해 주목을 모았다. 2023년 국제광공학회(SPIE) 장학생으로 선정됐으며, 지난 2021년에는 나노 기술 개발 촉진을 위한 ‘나노 코리아 2021’ 심포지엄에서 금상을 수상했다.

또, 박용헌 씨(지도교수 산업경영공학과 · 융합대학원 장용구)는 금융위원회 2030 자문단원으로서 청년금융정책 제고를 위해 활동하고 있다. 2023년 미래에셋증권 빅데이터 페스티벌에서 장려상을 받았으며, 2022년에는 한국은행 통화정책 경시대회에서 동상을 받기도 했다.

한편, 올해 고등학생 50명, 대학 · 청년 50명 등 총 100명이 ‘대한민국 인재상’을 받았으며, 2001년부터 지금까지 수상자는 총 2,396명이다. POSTECH은 작년 기계공학과 통합과정 김주훈 씨에 이어 올해 수상자 2명을 배출했다.

 POSTECH Kim Ye-seul and Park Yong-heon receive the ‘2023 Korea Talent Award’

POSTECH (Pohang University of Science and Technology) recently announced on the 10th that Kim Ye-seul, an integrated mechanical engineering student, and Park Yong-heon, an integrated industrial and management engineering student, were awarded the ‘2023 Korea Talent Award’.

Ye-seul Kim (advisor, Department of Mechanical Engineering and Department of Chemical Engineering, Jun-seok Noh) attracted attention last year by developing a dual metalens that uses light to switch shooting modes with a single lens. In 2023, she was selected as a Society for Photonics Engineering International (SPIE) Scholar, and in 2021, she won the Gold Award at the ‘Nano Korea 2021’ Symposium for Promoting Nanotechnology Development.

In addition, Yong-heon Park (Advisor Professor Yong-gu Jang, Department of Industrial and Management Engineering, Graduate School of Convergence) is working to improve youth finance policy as a member of the Financial Services Commission 2030 Advisory Group. He received the Encouragement Award at the Mirae Asset Securities Big Data Festival in 2023, and also received a bronze medal at the Bank of Korea Monetary Policy Contest in 2022.

Meanwhile, a total of 100 people, including 50 high school students and 50 college and young people, received the ‘Korea Talent Award’ this year, and a total of 2,396 recipients have been awarded since 2001. POSTECH produced two winners this year, following Kim Joo-hoon from last year's integrated mechanical engineering program.
