17일 조원진 대표는 김무성 전 의원을 "대한민국 헌정사상 초유의 대통령 탄핵을 주도한 탄핵 주적"이라고 표현했다.

그러면서 "자신의 정치적 욕심을 채우기 위해 정계은퇴 약속을 뒤집고 출마를 선언한 것을 보면 참으로 양심이 있는지 묻고 싶다"며 "김무성 전 의원이 해야 할 일은 자신의 정계은퇴 약속을 지켜 국민에 대한 최소한의 도리를 다하는 것"이라고 강조했다.

조 대표는 “거짓촛불이 선동한 가짜뉴스에 중독되어 죄없는 대통령을 탄핵시킨 김무성 전 의원이 얼마나 많은 국민의 가슴에 피멍을 들게 했는가"라고 반문했다.

이어 "능구렁이처럼 정계은퇴 선언을 번복하는 국민기만 정치를 중단하고 이제라도 국민께 진심어린 반성과 사과를 하기 바란다"고 질타했다.

나아가 조원진 대표는  “타락한 정치와 국회를 바로잡아 민주주의를 복원하기 위해서는 탄핵 주적들은 역사 속으로 사라져야 한다”면서 “악몽과 같은 대통령 탄핵이 또다시 재발되지 않도록 김무성 전 의원이 양심적인 정계은퇴를 하기를 촉구한다”고 말했다.
