시는 침체하는 중심상권 활성화를 위해 관련 용역을 진행한 끝에 사업 계획을 수립하고 지난달부터 본격적인 조성공사에 나섰다.

‘금리단길 황금별 테마거리’ 조성에 사업비 7억 5000만원이 투입된다.

먼저 신라대종 정원에 북두칠성의 여섯 번째 별이자 경주시가 경주의 별로 지정한 개양성을 컨셉으로 한 ‘빛 광장’을 조성한다.

또 이곳에는 북두칠성 일곱 개의 별모양을 형상화한 바닥조명을 설치해 ‘개양성의 여정’이라는 컨셉의 프로젝션 조명도 함께 설치된다.

이어 신라대종 정원 빛 광장부터 원효로까지 구간에는 황금별 여정을 테마로 한 ‘빛 거리’도 만든다.

빛 거리에는 게이트 3곳을 설치하고 구간 곳곳마다 LED고보, 레이저 조명 등이 설치되며, 조명 조형물도 들어선다.

경주시는 이 거리가 조성되면 대릉원 관광객들의 금리단길 유입으로 중심상권 활성화에 적잖은 도움이 될 것으로 기대하고 있다.

주낙영 경주시장은 “이 사업이 완료되면 황리단길과 대릉원을 찾는 관광객들의 동선이 ‘금리단길 황금별 테마거리’로 이어지게 될 것”이라고 강조했다.

Gyeongju City expects that once this street is built, it will be of great help in revitalizing the central commercial district due to the influx of tourists to Daereungwon.

Gyeongju Mayor Joo Nak-young emphasized, “Once this project is completed, the flow of tourists visiting Hwangridan-gil and Daereungwon will be connected to the ‘Geumridan-gil Golden Star Theme Street.’”
