지난 2022년 8월 홍준표 대구시장 관사 관련 정보공개청구에 대해 비공개 결정을 내렸던 대구시가 법원의 판결에 따라 1년 6개월 만에 정보를 공개했다. 

대구시가 밝힌 ‘1급 숙소 운영비와 구입비용 상세현황’에 따르면 홍준표 대구시장은 관사 매입비용(아파트, 46평형)은 부동산 중개 수수료와 등기이전 수수료 등을 포함하여 약 9억 원이며, 집기구입 및 리모델링에 9천여만 원을 사용해 전체 약 10원의 예산을 투입한 것으로 확인된다.

이에 우리복지시민연합은 “홍준표 시장이 취임 때부터 줄기차게 채무비율감축을 위한 지출구조조정과 공유재산 매각에 관사 또한 예외가 될 수 없다”며 “공유재산 매각에 어느 집행부보다 집착하면서 자신의 관사를 그대로 유지한다는 것은 자기모순이자 어불성설이 아닐 수 없다”고 지적했다.

이어 “홍준표 시장의 채무감축과 공유재산 매각 기조의 바로미터는 바로 관사라 해도 무방하다”며 “관사를 그대로 둔 채 각종 공유재산을 매각하고, 또 매각하려고 한다면 이것이야말로 내로남불이 아닌가?”라고 반문했다.

우리복지시민연합은 “행정소송 과정에서 드러난 대구시의 궁색한 해명과 관사를 계속 유지함으로써 투입되는 유지관리비를 생각한다면, 채무제로 기조는 눈 가리고 아웅하는 것이 될 수 있다”고 꼬집었다.

그러면서 “빚을 갚겠다며 어떤 분야는 가혹한 지출구조조정을 하고 공유재산 매각까지 하면서 허리띠 졸라매기를 하는 대구시가 시장 관사에 이만큼의 세금을 들여야 하는지 여전히 의문이 남는다”고 비판했다.

우리복지시민연합은 “관사 매각에 대한 홍 시장의 입장전환을 촉구한다”며 “그렇지 않으면 계속해서 여론의 도마 위에 오를 것”이라고 경고했다.
