15일 경주시에 따르면 ‘인도네시아 헤리티지 트러스트 The Indonesian Heritage Trust’는 인도네시아 문화유산 보존을 목적으로 관련정책을 수립하는 연구기관이고, ‘발리 쿠나 산티 재단 Bali Kuna Santi’은 발리의 문화유산 보존을 목적으로 설립된 교육기관이다.

앞서 두 기관은 지난달 세계유산도시기구 아태지역사무처와 세계유산 분야 조사·연구, 국제학술심포지움, 청소년 및 청년 교육프로그램, 지식·정보공유에 대한 협력의향서를 체결한 바 있다.

세계유산도시기구 아태지역사무처는 경주시가 운영 중인 국제기구다.

경주시와 두 기관은 협력의향서 체결을 통해 상호 간 학술역량강화 및 세계유산 기반 지속적인 발전을 위해 협력하기로 약정했다.

협력의향서 체결 당시 이들 두 기관은 “무한한 가능성을 가진 국제도시인 경주의 2025 APEC 정상회의 유치를 지지하며 경주의 무궁한 발전을 기원한다”고 강조했다.
