군에 따르면 이날 24명의 생산자(작목반), 농업인 단체 대표, 농협군지부장 및 조합장 등이 참석한 가운데 현재 추진 현황 및 대응방안을 설명한 후 대책 등을 논의했다.

군은 이상기후에 대응하기 위해, 미리 참외 농가에 배양 미생물을 공급하고 참외 발효과 방지 기술을 홍보․지도하여 참외 생육을 개선하고자지속적으로 노력해왔다.

또한, 향후 출하 지연된 물량의 홍수 출하 대비를 위한 계획을 세우고 저급과 참외 물량 증가에 따른 방안도 마련하여 앞으로 상황에 적극적으로 대처해 나갈 계획이다.

이병환 성주군수는“계속해서 흐린날씨가 지속된다면 농가 피해가 우려된다.”며“참외 출하를 확대하고 농가 피해가 발생하지 않도록 군에서 최선을 다하고 있으니, 농가에서도 주기적인 예찰로 재배관리에 노력을 기울여달라.”고 당부했다.
