【브레이크뉴스 의성】이성현 기자=의성군(군수 김주수)은 국토교통부와 항공안전기술원 주관‘2024년 드론 실증도시 구축’ 공모사업에 최종 선정돼 국비를 지원받는다.

29일 의성군에 따르면 이번 사업은 드론 산업 육성 및 활성화를 위해 지역 특성에 맞는 다양한 드론 활용 서비스 모델을 발굴하고 지원하는 사업이다.

이번 선정으로 의성군은 국가시설인 의성군 드론비행시험센터와 연계한‘통합 대(對)드론 시스템 개발 및 불법 비행드론 대응 체계 실증’, ‘의성군 특화 드론 레저산업 기반 구축’, ‘드론 활용 유해 야생동물 포획·관리 기반 구축 실증’을 수행하게 된다.

아울러 군은 추가로 군비를 투입하여 ‘과수 농업의 드론 최적화 서비스 시스템 구축’을 위한 자체 실증 사업을 추진할 예정이다.

㈜한컴인스페이스, ㈜삼정솔루션, ㈜유맥에어, ㈜나르샤텍이 민간기업 컨소시엄으로 참여하며, 의성군과 경운대학교가 사업을 총괄 관리·지원한다. 올해 11월까지 실증사업 추진, 행정·기술·인력 지원, 향후 상용화를 목표로 협력해 나갈 예정이다.

의성군은 그동안 관·산·학 추진협의체 운영으로 드론 산업 육성을 위한 추진전략을 마련하고 자체 드론 실증사업 추진, 항공산업분야 인재양성 체계 구축, 국가시설인 드론비행시험센터 준공, 가음면 드론스포츠 센터 운영 등 관련 인프라 조성을 위해 끊임없이 노력해 왔으며, 이번 드론 실증도시 구축사업 선정을 계기로 드론산업 활성화에 더욱 박차를 가할 예정이다.

김주수 의성군수는 “지난해 경북 의성 공항신도시가 전국 최초로 국토교통부 모빌리티 특화도시 공모에 선정돼 자율주행, 도심항공 등다양한 첨단 모빌리티 서비스가 도시 전역으로 구현됨으로써 이동성 혁신을 가져올 것으로 기대되는 상황에서, 이번에 선정된 드론 실증도시 구축 공모사업과 연계하여 의성군이 미래 모빌리티 중심도시로 우뚝 설 수 있도록 최선을 다하겠다.”고 말했다.
