군에 따르면 전통시장 러브투어는타 지역 단체관광객들이 영덕군 관내 전통시장을 방문하고자 할 경우 관광을 겸해 장보기를 할 수 있도록 대형버스 임차비를 1대당 50만 원씩 지원하게 된다.

대상 시장은 영덕, 강구, 영해 전통시장이며, 5일 장이 열리는 날에 맞춰 대형버스 1대 기준 30명 이상의 인원이 전통시장에 방문해 1시간 이상 머물면서 장보기 행사를 하면 지원 조건이 된다.

전통시장 러브투어를 희망하는 30인 이상의 단체는 일자리경제과 새마을경제팀으로 신청하면 된다.

영덕군은 방문객들의 순조로운 투어를 지원하기 위해 시장 매니저를 도우미로 배치하고 시장 상인회와 협의해 친절 교육을 진행하는 등 전통시장 장보기 환경과 문화를 개선에 나서고 있다.

김광열 영덕군수는 “작년 성황리에 마무리된 전통시장 러브투어 사업을 올해도 시행해 지역의 관광자원과 연계함으로써 전통시장과 지역경제 활성화를 도모할 계획”이라며, “러브투어를 통해 전통시장을 살리고 방문객들에게 즐거움을 줄 수 있도록 최선을 다하겠다”고 전했다.
