【브레이크뉴스 대구】진예솔 기자=대구한의대(총장 변창훈)가 16일 ‘글로컬대학30’에 예비지정 되었다고 밝혔다.

대구한의대는 이날 오전 교육부가 글로컬대학 신청 대학 65곳 중 예비 선정된 20개교 명단에 이름을 올리며 최종 선정에 대한 기대감을 내비쳤다.

지방대학경쟁력 강화를 위한 ‘글로컬대학30’은 2026년까지 비수도권 대학 중 지역·산업과의 파트너십을 토대로 동반성장을 이끄는 혁신전략을 내놓은 30개교를 지정해 1개교 당 5년간 1,000억 원을 지원하는 사업이다.

교육부는 오는 8월에 10개교 내외를 글로컬대학으로 최종 지정해 발표할 예정이다.

예비 지정에 앞서 대구한의대는 강점분야인 한의학의 과학화 ‧ 산업화 ‧ 세계화를 토대로 지역의 신성장 동력 산업을 만드는 ‘K-MEDI* 산업 실크로드’ 혁신 모델을 제안했다. 

‘노마드 캠퍼스’를 기반으로 특화분야 중심의 로컬 캠퍼스 활성화와 함께 해외 대학과 국제 연합대학 체계를 구축(공동학위제, 공동연구 등)할 계획이다. 또 경북 지역전략산업과 연계한 ‘K-MEDI 산업기반 G(경북) 벨트’를 구축해 대학 보유기술 ‧ 교육과정 수출로 K-MEDI산업을 글로벌 확산하고자 한다.

대구한의대는 약 3개월의 준비기간 동안 지자체, 지역 혁신기관과 공동으로 혁신기획서에 대한 구체적인 실행계획을 수립할 계획이다.

변창훈 총장은 “대학 건학이념인 한의학의 과학화, 산업화, 세계화를 위한대학교의 열정과 구체적인 실적을 혁신기획서에 담으려고 노력했다”며 “최종 선정을 위해서 지자체와 기업이 함께하는 한의학의 글로벌 진출과 지역 발전의 실행계획서를 잘 수립해 좋은 결과를 내도록 전력을 다할 것이다”고 말했다.
