【브레이크뉴스 포항】박영재 기자=POSTECH(포항공과대학교)은 오는 31일부터 6월 2일까지 ‘POSTECH International Conference(포스텍 인터내셔널 컨퍼런스)’를 개최한다고 29일 밝혔다.

이번 컨퍼런스의 주제는 ‘Smart Healthcare Materials for Nano-medicine and Bioprinting(나노 의학과 바이오프린팅을 위한 스마트 헬스케어 소재)’으로 바이오 의료 분야 세계적 석학 20여 명이 POSTECH에 모여 최신 연구 동향과 응용, 기술 개발 현황을 공유할 예정이다.

31일에는 김성근 총장의 환영사와 오유경 식약처장 · 이강덕 포항시장의 축사에 이어 △데이비드 웨이츠(David Weitz) 미국 하버드대 교수 · 미국 과학한림원 및 공학한림원 위원 △몰리 스티븐스(Molly Stevens) 영국 옥스퍼드대 교수 · 미국 공학한림원 위원 및 영국왕립화학회 펠로우 △캄 레옹(Kam Leong) 미국 컬럼비아대 교수 · 미국 의학한림원 및 공학한림원 위원 · 바이오머티리얼즈 (Biomaterials) 주에디터를 포함해 총 다섯 명의 연사가 기조 강연을 진행한다.

그리고, 1일부터 2일까지 미국 하버드의대, 스탠포드대, 존스홉킨스대, 버클리 캘리포니아주립대, 카네기 멜론대 등의 교수진들이 각 세션을 이끌 예정이다. 특히, 이번 행사에는 재료 분야 세계 최고 수준의 어드밴스드 저널과 영국왕립화학회(Royal Society of Chemistry) 저널 에디터들도 참석할 예정이다.
