‘토요공부방’은 경북대학교 재학생들의 자발적인 신청으로 구성된 멘토 10명이 다문화가정자녀들로 구성된 멘티 10명에게 공부법 및 개인별 맞춤 학습을 제공하고 건강한 정서를 기르기 위한 일상생활 관리 방법 등을 조언해 준다.

대구도시개발공사는 2012년 이후로 오랜 기간 운영해 온 토요공부방의 안정적인 운영을 지원하고, 봉사정신으로 멘토 역할을 수행 중인 대학생들을 격려하는 한편으로 다문화가정 자녀들의 교육권을 확보하여 지역공동체의 강화를 유도하고 공사의 사회적 책임을 이행하고자 노력하고 있다.
