경상북도는“대한민국 고유 영토인 독도에 대해 매년 되풀이 하는 역사 왜곡과 영토 도발을 즉각 중단할 것”을 도민과 함께 강력히 규탄했다.

특히, “독도는 역사적·지리적·국제법적으로 명백한 대한민국 고유의영토”임을 전 세계에 다시한번 천명하고, 독도를 관할하는 도지사로서일본의 어떠한 도발에도 단호히 대응해 나갈 것임을 밝혔다.

또한, “일본 정부는 독도에 대한 터무니없는 억지 주장을 즉시 중단하고, 역사적 진실 앞에서 진정한 반성과 사죄의 자세로 한․일 관계 개선에 앞장 설 것”을 촉구했다.
