【브레이크뉴스 대구】진예솔 기자=국민의힘 책임당원 비율이 가장 높은 대구‧경북에서 신임 지도부 선출을 위한 제4차 전당대회 대구‧경북 합동연설회가 개최됐다.

12일 오후 2시 대구 엑스코에서 열린 행사에는 국민의힘 대구·경북 국회의원들과 기초단체장, 광역 시·도의원을 비롯한 3500여명의 당원들이 참석하며 성황을 이뤘다.

보수의 텃밭에서 열린 행사답게 연설회 시작 시간 한참 전부터 수많은 인파가 행사장을 가득 채우며 열기를 더했다.

정견 발표는 청년최고위원, 최고위원, 당대표 후보 순으로 진행됐다. 당원들은 후보자들이 무대에 오를 때마다 지지후보의 이름을 연호하거나 경쟁후보를 향한 야유를 보내기도 했다.

서병수 선거관리위원장은 후보들의 연설에 앞서 원희룡‧한동훈 후보가 방송토론회에서 비방 및 흑색선전 등으로 ‘주의 및 시정명령’을 받은 것에 대해 언급해 눈길을 끌었다. 그는 “자중하시고 멀리 내다보는 인내와 관용으로 국민들을 안심시키는 모습을 보여달라”며 “보수의 심장인 이곳에서 후퇴한 모습이 아닌 건강한 미래 비전을 제시해주길 바란다”고 말했다.

황우여 비상대책위원장과 추경호 원내대표 등도 불 붙은 당권 경쟁에 “도 넘는 비판과 공방을 자제해달라”고 전했다.

그러나 이 같은 당부에도 후보들은 아랑곳 않는 모양새다. 자신을 모태TK라고 소개한 나경원 후보는 “자기 살자고 당무개입이니 국정농단이니 금기어를 함부로 쓰는 분이 있다“며 한동훈 후보를 저격했다. 원희룡 후보에 대해선 “용산을 맹종하려는 후보도 절대 안된다”며 “대통령실에 쓴소리를 제대로 하고 뒤로 몰래 개입하지 못하게 철저히 막는 강인한 당대표가 되겠다”고 강조했다.

원희룡 후보는 “박근혜 대통령 탄핵으로 얼마나 많은 고통을 겪었나”라며 “누군가는 인생의 화양연화였는지 몰라도 우리 모두 지옥을 겪었다”고 말했다. 그는 또 “영화 ‘대부’에 이런 대사가 나온다. ‘적과 화해를 주선하는 자가 있다면 바로 그가 배신자’”라며 한 후보를 겨냥한 발언을 이어갔다.

한동훈 후보는 당 선관위의 조치에 불복하며 이의신청서를 제출한 것으로 알려진다. 그는 합동 연설회에 앞서 대구 지역 중견 언론인 모임에서 주최한 정책토론회에 참석해 “학폭 가해자와 피해자가 있으면 그냥 다 경고하나”라며 “선관위의 판단은 기계적 균형을 맞춘 것 같다”고 말해 불편한 기색을 내비쳤다.

윤상현 후보는 별다른 네거티브 없이 “TK신공항, TK(행정)통합 빨리 완성시키겠다. 남부의 경제 거점으로 만들고 대구를 제2의 판교로 만들겠다”며 정제된 발언으로 표심확보에 주력했다.

Candidate Na Gyeong-won, who introduced herself as TK, took aim at candidate Han Dong-hoon, saying, “There are people who use taboo words carelessly, such as interfering in party affairs and manipulating state affairs for their own survival.” Regarding candidate Won Hee-ryong, he emphasized, “There is absolutely no way for a candidate to blindly obey Yongsan,” and added, “I will become a strong party leader who will properly criticize the President’s office and thoroughly prevent anyone from secretly interfering behind his back.”

Candidate Won Hee-ryong said, “How much pain have we suffered due to the impeachment of President Park Geun-hye?” He added, “It may have been the Hwayangyeonhwa of life for some, but we all went through hell.” He also said, “This line appears in the movie ‘The Godfather.’ “If there is anyone who arranges reconciliation with the enemy, he is a traitor,” he said, continuing his remarks targeting one candidate.

Candidate Han Dong-hoon is known to have submitted an objection to the party's election committee's actions. On this day, prior to the joint speech, he attended a policy debate hosted by a group of mid-level journalists in the Daegu area and showed signs of discomfort by saying, “If there are perpetrators and victims of school violence, do we just warn them all?” and “The National Election Commission’s judgment seems to have been mechanically balanced.”

Candidate Sang-Hyun Yoon said without any negatives, “We will quickly complete TK New Airport and TK (administrative) integration. He focused on securing votes with refined remarks, saying, “I will make it an economic base in the south and make Daegu the second Pangyo.”
