【브레이크뉴스 대구】진예솔 기자=국회의원연구단체 국회 AI 포럼은 정송 KAIST 석좌교수를 초청해 진행한 특별강연을 성황리에 마쳤다고 24일 밝혔다.

이날 국회의원회관에는 정송 KAIST 석좌교수는 여·야 국회의원 20여명이 참석한 가운데 ‘인공지능, 무엇이고 어디로 가고 있는가’를 주제로 강연을 실시했다.

이들은 인공지능 기술과 관련한 최신 동향과 연구 결과를 공유하고 인공지능 산업 발전을 위한 정책 방향에 대해 다양한 논의와 토론을 벌였다.

정 교수는 강연에서 “기술의 중심에는 기계학습(ML)과 딥러닝(DL)이 있다. 이 기술들은 복잡한 데이터 패턴을 학습하고 예측하는 데 탁월한 성능을 보이고 있다”며 “특히 자연어 처리(NLP) 기술로 인해 챗봇, 번역기, 음성인식 시스템 등에서 큰 발전을 이루었다”고 설명했다.

또한 “AI가 의로분야, 자율주행 등 사회 전반적으로 혁신을 가져오고 있고 AI기반의 산업 발전이 가속화되고 있다”면서 “이러한 AI 기술의 지속적인 발전을 위해 연구와 교육이 필수적으로 이를 통해 대한민국의 국가경쟁력을 높이는 데 중요한 역할을 할 것으로 보며 AI 기술의 활용이 경제 발전과 사회적 편익 증대에 기여할 것”이라고 덧붙였다.

국회 AI 포럼 이인선 대표의원은“AI의 현재 수준과 미래에 대해 더 깊이 이해할 수 있는 시간이었다”며“앞으로도 포럼에서 다양한 행사들을 구성하여 많은 의원님들의 이해도를 높이고 우리나라의 실정에 맞는 법안을 마련할 계획”이라고 밝혔다.

조승래 연구책임의원은“정송 교수님의 강연을 통해 인공지능에 대한 이해를 높이고, 미래 사회를 준비하는 데 필요한 통찰력을 얻을 수 있길 기대한다”며“오늘 진행되었던 논의를 바탕으로 국회에서 AI 제도화 등 입법적, 정책적 노력을 병행하겠다”고 했다.

Rep. Lee In-seon, representative of the National Assembly AI Forum, said, “It was a time to gain a deeper understanding of the current level and future of AI.” He added, “We plan to organize various events at the forum in the future to increase the understanding of many lawmakers and prepare legislation that fits our country’s circumstances.” “He said.
