【브레이크뉴스 경주】박희경 기자=동국대 WISE캠퍼스 평생교육원은 지난 8월 7일 교내 평생교육원 회의실에서 경주시 외국인근로자지원센터와 외국인 근로자를 위한 지역연계사업과 평생학습의 교류협력 및 상호발전을 위한 공동협약을 체결했다고 9일 밝혔다.

이번 협약을 통해 외국인 근로자를 대상으로 한 평생학습 교육 및 사회적응·정착을 위한 지원사업 등이 활성화 될 것으로 기대된다.

협약의 주요 내용은 외국인 근로자의 사회적응, 정착지원, 상담, 통역 등의 지원사업과 평생학습 활성화를 위한 교육사업을 공동 추진하며, 또한 인력의 상호교류 및 정보교환 등의 협력을 통해 상호발전 및 긴밀한 협력체계를 확립하는 것이다.

동국대학교 WISE캠퍼스 평생교육원 이영찬 원장은 "이번 협약을 통해 지역 내 외국인 근로자들에게 다양한 평생학습 교육을 제공하고, 그들의 사회적응 및 정착에 많은 도움을 줄 수 있을 것이라며, “대학 평생교육이 지역사회의 다양한 계층과 상생할 수 있는 새로운 모델을 만들어가겠다"고 말했다. 이어 "앞으로도 정부 정책과 연계한 평생교육 프로그램을 적극 발굴하여 대학의 지속가능성을 높이고, 지역 평생학습 활성화에 이바지하겠다"고 강조했다.
