【브레이크뉴스 대구】진예솔 기자=대구시교육청(교육감 강은희)이 2024 파리올림픽에 출전해 금메달을 딴 반효진 선수의 환영회를 개최했다고 12일 밝혔다.

2007년생인 반효진 선수는 지난 29일 '2024 파리올림픽' 사격 여자 10m 공기소총 부문에 출전한 반 선수는 중국의 황 위팅과의 접전 끝에 승리를 거머쥐며 최연소 금메달리스트가 됐다.

반 선수의 모교 대구체육고등학교 필승관에서 열린 환영회에는 강은희 대구교육감을 비롯한 선수 부모, 지도 교사, 코치, 체육고 교직원 및 학생, 교육청 관계자 등 250여 명이 참석했다.

이날 대구시교육청은 환영회와 함께 대구인재육성장학재단을 통해 반효진 학생에게 장학금 5백만 원을 전달하기도 했다.

반효진 선수는 “10년 뒤인 27살에도 컨디션 관리를 잘 하면서 선수 생활을 이어가지 않을까 생각한다”며 “제 최종 목표는 올림픽, 아시안게임, 세계선수권 대회 금메달을 따는 그랜드슬램 달성이다”고 포부를 밝혔다.

그러면서 “이렇게 많은 분들이 격려와 축하를 해주셔서 감사드린다. 그동안 묵묵히 도와주신 모든 분들께 감사드리고 앞으로 있을 다른 대회에서도 목표를 향해 열심히 노력하는 선수가 되겠다”고 소감을 전했다.

강은희 대구교육감은 “반효진 선수는 단순히 개인의 영광을 넘어 국민 모두에게 큰 기쁨과 감동을 주었다”며 “특히 대구교육 현장에서 자라나고 있는 다른 학생들에게도 큰 자부심과 동기를 심어준 점에 대해 교육감으로서 고맙게 생각한다”고 말했다.
