이만규 의장을 비롯해 이재화·김원규 부의장, 하중환 운영위원장 등 확대의장단 9명 전원이 19일 오후 1시 30분 대구시 충무상황실을 방문했다.

이들은 을지연습 주관 부서인 사회재난과장으로부터 을지연습 훈련 상황을 보고 받았다.

이와 함께 공무원과 군인, 경찰 등 관계자들의 비상대비태세 상황을 면밀하게 살폈다.

그러면서 폭염 속에서 을지연습에 만전을 기하고 있는 관계자들의 고충을 청취하고 실효성 있는 훈련이 될 수 있도록 관계자들을 격려하는 시간을 가졌다.

이만규 의장은 “최근 북한핵 안보 위협 및 오물풍선 살포 등으로 한반도의 긴장감이 고조되고 있다”며 “국가비상대비태세 확립을 목표로 실전과 같은 훈련을 실시하고 완벽한 위기대응 능력을 갖추는 데 만전을 다해 줄 것”을 당부했다.
