지난 21일 우리공화당 중앙당선거관리위원회는 제4차 전국대의원대회 당대표 및 최고위원 선거 후보등록 및 자격심사를 통해 최종 후보자를 확정했다.
이에 따라 차기 당대표 후보는 단독으로 입후보한 조원진 후보가 확정됐고, 최고위원 후보로는 기호순으로 변성근, 김진영, 조시철, 송영진, 최민선 후보가 확정됐다. 최종 후보자들은 22일부터 29일까지 8일간 선거운동을 실시한다.
우리공화당 당대표 및 최고위원 선거는 8월 30일에서 9월 1일까지 온라인 투표를 실시하며 9월 1일 제4차 전국대의원대회가 열리는 현장에서 실시하는 현장 투표를 합해 최종 당선자를 결정한다.
허평환 중앙당선거관리위원장은 “믿음직하고 책임있는 보수정치 발전을 위해 차기 우리공화당 지도부의 역할은 참으로 막중하다”면서 “차기 지도부가 국민과 당원의 염원을 받들어 우리공화당이 중심이 되어 반드시 보수대통합과 정치개혁이 성공하길 기원한다”고 말했다.
