【브레이크뉴스 영천】이성현 기자=영천시(시장 최기문)는 9일 시청 영상회의실에서 관내 각급학교 교육경비 보조사업의 적정하고 균형 있는 지원을 위한 2025년도 영천시 교육경비보조금 심의위원회를 개최했다고 밝혔다.

교육경비보조금은 매년 7월 교육지원청과 고등학교를 대상으로 진행하는 수요조사를 바탕으로 실무 검토와 교육경비보조금 심의위원회 심의‧의결을 통해 9월 확정되며, 다음 연도 학기 초 각급학교 및 교육지원청으로 지원된다.

이번 심의위원회에서는 예체능 영재 집중 지원에 대한 요구 및 물가상승률 등을 반영해, 올해 대비 6천 4백만원 증액된 17억 7천만원을 지원하기로 의결했다.

주요 내용으로는 △초등학생 학습준비물‧초중고 방과후학교(학력신장)‧중학생 자유학기제 진로체험학습 지원 6억 5천만원 △예체능 영재육성 및 학력증진 지원 1억 5천만원 △영천영어타운 및 영천학생문화예술체험프로그램 지원 4억 7천만원 △고경초등학교 시설비 대응투자 지원 1억 2천만원 △통학차량 임차비 및 기타사업 지원 3억 8천만원 등이 있다.

김진현(영천시 부시장) 위원장은 “학교 교육환경 개선과 학습지원을 위한 다양한 사업에 교육경비보조금을 지원해 학생들에게 보다 나은 교육 기회를 제공하고, 지역교육이 한층 더 발전할 수 있도록 노력하겠다”고 말했다.

한편, 영천시는 올해 교육경비보조금 지원사업 외에도 유‧초‧중‧고등학교 무상급식, 관내 중‧고등학교 1학년 신입생 교복구입비 등 33억원을 지원하며, 총 50억원의 교육예산을 통해 지역 교육 발전과 우수 인재 양성에 기여하고 있다.

This deliberation committee decided to support 1.77 billion won, an increase of 64 million won from this year, reflecting the demand for intensive support for gifted students in arts, sports, and the inflation rate.

The main contents include: △650 million won for elementary school students’ learning materials, elementary, middle, and high school after-school programs (academic achievement enhancement), and middle school students’ free semester career experience learning support; △150 million won for arts and physical education gifted development and academic achievement enhancement support; △470 million won for Yeongcheon English Town and Yeongcheon Student Culture and Arts Experience Program support; △120 million won for facility investment support for Gogyeong Elementary School; △380 million won for school vehicle rental and other business support.

Chairman Kim Jin-hyeon (Yeongcheon City Vice Mayor) said, “We will provide better educational opportunities to students and strive to further develop local education by supporting educational expenses subsidies for various projects to improve school educational environments and support learning.” Meanwhile, Yeongcheon City is contributing to the development of local education and the cultivation of excellent talent through an education budget of a total of 5 billion won, including 3.3 billion won in support for free meals for elementary, middle, and high school students and uniform purchase costs for first-year middle and high school students in the city, in addition to the education expense subsidy project this year.
