【브레이크뉴스 영천】이성현 기자=영천시(시장 최기문)는 ‘2024년도 영천시 자랑스러운 시민상’ 문화·교육·체육 부문에 조정숙 씨, 사회봉사 부문에 최호병 씨를 선정했다.

20일 영천시에 따르면 이번 선정은 심의위원회를 통해 심사기준에 따라 진행됐으며, 부문별 후보자들에 대해 엄정한 심의를 거쳐 최종 수상자를 선정했다.

문화·교육·체육 부문 수상자로 선정된 조정숙 씨는 현재 보현자연수련원 원장으로 지역사회에 애착을 가지고 꾸준히 봉사하고 있으며, 요리연구 및 체험학습 과정을 실시해 지역의 문화와 음식을 널리 알리고 발전시키는 데 크게 기여해왔다.

사회봉사 부문 수상자로 선정된 최호병 씨는 현재 영천시자원봉사센터 이사로 재임하고 있으며, 환경정화 활동, 안전캠페인 지원, 사회복지시설 봉사, 재난재해 봉사, 자원재활용품 모으기, 집 고쳐주기 봉사 등 각종 봉사활동을 실천해 ‘함께 잘 사는 사회 만들기’에 기여해왔다.

시상은 오는 10월 3일부터 개최하는 제50회 영천문화예술제 개막식에서 진행될 예정이다.

최기문 영천시장은 “수상자뿐만 아니라 각자의 자리에서 지역사회를 위해 헌신해주시는 시민상 후보자 여러분들께 감사의 말씀을 드리며, 앞으로도 지역사회 발전을 위해 많은 관심과 협조를 부탁드린다”고 말했다.

Jo Jeong-suk, who was selected as the winner in the Culture, Education, and Sports category, is currently the director of Bohyeon Natural Training Center and has been consistently volunteering with affection for the local community, and has greatly contributed to spreading and developing local culture and food by conducting culinary research and experiential learning courses.

Choi Ho-byeong, who was selected as the winner of the social service category, is currently serving as the director of the Yeongcheon City Volunteer Center, and has contributed to ‘creating a society where we all live well together’ by carrying out various volunteer activities such as environmental cleanup activities, safety campaign support, social welfare facility volunteer work, disaster relief volunteer work, collecting recyclable materials, and house repair volunteer work.

The award ceremony will be held at the opening ceremony of the 50th Yeongcheon Culture and Arts Festival, which will be held from October 3.
